Celebrate Grandparents during Children’s Week at WA Maritime Museum! Enjoy a visit to our special exhibition called From Nonna With Love: Stories of tradition and triumph.

We’re shining a spotlight on grandparents and we we’d love to hear why yours are so special. It’s time to highlight the importance of intergenerational sharing that keeps cultural heritage vibrant and alive in the contemporary world.

Get on camera and join us at our video booth event to share why your grandparents (Nonni) are awesome! There’s plenty of stories, gifts and traditions passed down from recipes and songs to skills and wisdom. We’ll capture your memories and feature them in a community video released on Grandparents Day—the final Sunday of October.

Plus, take part in some cool activations happening on the day. Come along and tell us your thoughts about your family line.

– Explore stories of Italian migration to Fremantle through our Experience Plus digital guide on your own phone.
– Bring your young grandchildren to our Nonna’s Storytime session at 11am
– Facepainting fun with Rosie O facepainters
– Free craft activities including make-your-own photo-frame and family tree
