Nature Play WA, supported by Meerilinga, the Department of Education and the City of Kwinana, are excited to announce the FREE Children’s Week Nature Play Family Picnic Day, held on Saturday 27th October at the Kwinana Adventure Playground. This Children’s Week event is an absolute MUST for the whole family.
Nature Play Days offer families a chance to get their kids outside and mucking around. All of the activities are designed to be self-guided and encourage children to lead the way, and include elements of creativity, problem solving, adventure and fun. By downloading the Nature Play WA App free via iTunes or Google Play, families will be able to see the activities that are on offer, why they are great for children’s health and development and where they are located on site. The app will also allow families to be a part of the real-life treasure hunt, with clues to find hidden markers which lead to the next piece of the puzzle all within the Nature Play WA app. The great news is that there is no limit to the number of families that can take part in the hunt!
In addition to solving the Treasure Hunt we have set aside an area for loose parts play; gumnut birds, outdoor games; nature craft; and mud pie kitchens. The numbers in this area are limited and free tickets to complete this part of the event will be available closer to the day.
Don’t worry, there will still be a few hard-copy of the treasure hunt map for those who do not have smart-phones or are running low on battery.
Bring your family and your friends down for a Family Picnic Day to remember!
This is a self-guided event where parents and caregivers are responsible for their own child or children in their care at all times.
