Join us the 23 October 2019 to find out how to create inclusive environments for learning in this free Children’s Week seminar for Education Professionals. This Children’s Week seminar celebrates the 2019 theme, highlighting a Child’s Right to be Healthy, Safe & Happy in early childhood educational settings. As Educators, we often experience fantastic diversity in the children, families and staff we engage with. This seminar will provide information to help educators ensure that all children feel Healthy, Safe & Happy in our care.
With special guest speakers from Inclusive Education WA, this presentation will focus on the opportunities for early childhood and primary school educators to create more inclusive learning environments. The key focus in early childhood education is on gender stereotypes, gender roles/identity and how family composition diversity is recognised and supported in the early years. The presentation will also unpack the terminology and key concepts in the area of diversity, exploring the mental health, well-being and experiences of children living in diverse environments. Presenters will provide practical strategies and tips for creating safe and inclusive early childhood and primary school environments for children, families and staff.
Inclusive Education WA is funded by the WA Department of Education and delivered by the WA AIDS Council to provide specialised professional development, resources and support to WA schools encouraging inclusivity. It provides school staff and professionals with information and support on how to create safer and more inclusive environments for LGBTI students, staff and families.
Please be seated by 9:15am. We invite you to stay and network with other industry professionals and enjoy a free morning tea with event participants after the presentation.
