- Host community displays promoting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
- Organise a special family fun day for parents and children to enjoy
- Make a time capsule on the theme of children or childhood. Children can place memorabilia (poems, artwork, stories, photographs) in the time capsule to be reopened in the future
- Hold a community forum for people to voice their ideas for improvements or achievements to the services for children offered in your area
- Conduct workshops for parents, carers, professionals or organise speaker on topics related to the needs of children
- Organise an incursion of interest to children. Ask children’s views on who to invite ie. An entertainer, storyteller or guest speaker
- Arrange the painting of a wall mural in your community
- Establish a children’s hall of fame to be displayed during Children’s Week
- Hold a photographic exhibition or competition at your local shopping centre around a theme related to childhood
- Organise a Mini Olympics event
